It is unbeleivable. As always everyone tries to dip their finger in the $710m pie. And the latest, all the way from the East, a small time writer from China who claims that the idea for avatar was his and that is not all, they are also claiming that Cameron copied the 1957 sci-fi 'Call me Joe'. Then there is the flop animated movie 'Delgo' and I beleive that within the next week we shall have another few claims. To be honest, I was consdering sueing Cameron too. As a Kid I once dreamt of a story very similar to his, do I get any rights on that? maybe since it was just a dream, I can only get a million or two.
Come one.. wake up and smell the coffee... James Cameron only recreated what has been in every ones imagination ever since, and let's face it, the movie is not just the story, if it where just that than the Chinese author, Call me Joe and Delgo would have cashed in too. The movie is great in all it's aspects, great casting, scenery, music and what made it a hit... 3D.
Have you ever watched a movie and after the first couple of seconds you predict it's ending. That is how it goes, movies are just a DeJA Vu, the only difference between the movies is the investment that is pumped in to make it more entertaining.
On another note, how many religious movies have you watched. I am pretty sure that the evangelists never sued anyone, and yet their books have been published over and over again.
Well done James Cameron, I sincerely look forward to your next movie.
THIS IS MY OPINION
