On Easter weekend those of the Christian faith (Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, Anglicans, Baptists...) celebrate the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In the past, the Easter Sunday was generally reserved for the baptism of a large number of catechumens. Also, the council of Lateran (1215) ordered that those who reached the age of reason had to take the Holy communion at least once a year (in French "faire ses Pâques").

Santa Maria Novella (Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella) is often overlooked by tourists. This perfumery/pharmacy is located in an unassuming building at number 16 Via Della Scala.

The history of the pharmacy dates back to the 13th century. In 1221, Dominican friars began to mix and sell their essences, tonics and elixirs from their monastery. Shortly thereafter, the friars gained recognition as world class perfumers.

The Rocky Mountains were a must, as was Europe and especially, France. During my University years, I taught skiing on weekends in Breckenridge and after graduating from the University of Denver, I taught in Vail for five seasons at Gold Peak and Mid Vail as a full-time, private instructor.
