Men seem to have to easy for Valentine's Day. They know that candy, flowers and jewelry is a sure fire way to get to a woman's heart. The thing is though, you will probably find yourself stumped and confused as far as what you can do for Valentine's Day for the man in your life. He might not like chocolate and not many men like getting flowers. Since diamond earrings probably are not his thing, you are left wondering just what it is that you can buy him that will get straight to his heart and show him just how much you really care.

Start by thinking about all of the things he has complained about in terms of things he wants to buy but there is no money for it. This might be a car stereo, an MP3 player or a television for the bedroom. These are man gifts. They are things that will pull on his heartstrings the way a diamond necklace would pull on yours. Of course, many of those things are a little on the expensive side. Start brainstorming some more and you might be able to come up with things that are more affordable.

If purchasing gifts for each other is out of the question this year due to the economy, then there are other ways to make this year a year that he will not forget. See if you can pull together enough money to purchase some new lingerie. Throw that to the side for later in the evening. Ask a relative if they can baby-sit your children for the entire night.

Cook your other half his favorite meal but make sure that it is something that you enjoy as well since you will be eating it too. If you want to make the dinner a little extra fun, you can serve him his food while wearing a nice silky teddy. He will love it and you will feel much more comfortable.

Break out some fun adult board games or games that quiz you on how well you know each other. These games are fun and they help add to the romantic mood that should always be present on Valentine's Day.

Finish the night off with a romantic movie. Maybe there was a romantic movie that the two of you saw together when you first started dating. If you can find a movie like that, you will start a walk down memory lane that will be fun and extremely romantic.

In the end you will see that while big gifts are nice, you really do not have to spend a fortune in order to have a Valentine's Day that both of you will remember for many years to come
